About Me!
Hi! My name is Maya Gengozian. I am a singer, entertainment producer, and journalist based in New York City.
I am a 22 years old, born and raised in Clovis, California. In 2020, I moved to New York City to attend New York University. I am double majoring in Journalism and Vocal Performance: Musical Theater, expected to graduate in May 2024. At NYU, I am President and Co-Producer of West 4th Stage Company, an NYU Steinhardt performance organization, and on the communications committee for Women in Music NYU.
My passion for performing arts has integrated into my love of journalism. My primary beats are performing arts, entertainment and women’s news. From August 2022 to May 2023, I was the Editorial Intern for The Story Exchange, a nonprofit media publication focusing on entrepreneurial and inspiration women. In September 2023, I joined the team at Broadway World Cabaret as a reviewer.
In addition, I consume entertainment. When I'm not watching live theater, I'm watching TV or movies, or listening to my favorite artists -- Taylor Swift, Renee Rapp, SZA or The Backstreet Lovers. My favorite tv shows include Friends, The Good Wife, The Bold Type, and Criminal Minds, and my favorite movies include Little Women (2019), The Shining, No Hard Feelings and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. I am a lover of astrology, coffee, boba tea, reading, and anything to do with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
